As part of a year-long focus on veterans’ issues, we organized a panel featuring three veterans to discuss their personal experiences with reintegration into society after their service. The panel featured Terrence Stinson, the Chief of Staff of the Office of Policy and Planning at the Department of Veterans Affairs and a former Army officer; Kevin Creighton, head of Fletcher Vets and a former Marine officer; and Mark Alston-Follansbee, director of the Somerville Homeless Coalition and a veteran of Vietnam. The panel allowed ALLIES members and other students to speak directly with veterans on the challenges associated with reintegrating back into society after serving in the military and how that has changed over the past few decades.
